The tally of the goals is not a major issue here.
The issue here is that the US kept rubbing on the opponents' face even when some of Thai players started to tear up on the pitch. That's too much for many people's taste. Please take a look at how Germany carried themselves in the WC against Brazil.

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

The issues is not about the goals… they can get 100 goals, who cares. The issues is the celebration in their dominance. Like do you very have to run slide and shake your leg at the 9th goal… or 13th goal… lucky Thailand shows restraint and didn’t break any leg during that second half. Just saying. 😂😂😂🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️👎👎🤦‍♂️🙆‍♂️👎👎

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

Honestly it should have been more like 16-0. VAR and ref didn't give the US a few obvious calls.

  4. @norsefury74

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

Blame FIFA for expanding the field to more non-white nations, especially Asia and Africa. Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, Finland etc, would have all done better than Thailand.

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

lol..just shows that american knows nothing about football…go watch germany vs estonia (8-0)….you stop OVER celebrating after 5-0..just hug/pat each other..high five and run back to the center..you can score as many as you want..even 100

  9. @bingsterc7621

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

WHO IN THE FUCK ARE YOU, YOU DUMB FUCK FEMINIST?! Are you a professional athlete or a former pro athlete? If the answer is fucking no, I would advise you to STFU, YOU DUMB ASS BITCH. People DIDN'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE US RUNNING UP THE SCORE AGAINST Thailand and DOMINATING THEM. THEY GAVE A SHIT ABOUT US OVER CELEBRATING.

  10. @TheActiveAssault

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

They act like men and win. Go figure.

  12. @bjavierduke

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

Is patronizing to stop humiliating your rival?… so Germany patronized Brazil in 2014 when they took off the food from the gas? putting buzzwords in a soccer game just because they are women?

  13. @DavidAmmerlaan

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

Tone down the celebration a bit. That’s all.

  14. @steveedwards4635

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

    Amen!

  15. @timothypak8998

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

Your argument is devoid of any humanity and compassion. In the 2014 World Cup Semi-finals, a game that mattered much more than a group stage game, Germany after going up 4-0 against Brazil clearly let off the gas showing the grace and understanding that the US was seemingly devoid of against a much inferior side. This wasn't Germany or France that they went up 13-0 against which would be cause for celebration after each goal but a team my local rec league could have gave a run for their money to. Thailand doesn't have a Wendy Renard at centerback or Almuth Schult at keeper so what are you celebrating after 5 goals? As a US fan, I know whats its like to get destroyed in this sport. The US mens team recently got trampled on 3-0 and even that was disheartening so imagine what Thailand supporters are feeling. I'm sorry but your just wrong… they should have let off the gas, stopped celebrating the goals and instead of subbing in Lloyd and Press, maybe put in some defensive minded players to keep possession a little more.

  16. @buckbiro

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

I don't know why this is such a difficult concept for people to understand. Its not the score that was the problem, it was the celebration after the scores that is embarrassing to many US fans and the larger soccer/football community world-wide. Celebrate your first couple goals; but, don't celebrate your 13th goal in stoppage. The US should have continued to score as many as they could, but at a certain point it's business out there. They outclassed the Thai team, but certainly didn't show any class out there until it was too late.

  19. @lincolnmfalmeskych1

    Lol what is this

  20. @SaltiDawg2008

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

Moronic. In – Soccer/Baseball/Hockey and numerous other sports, one does not "run-up the score.
These whining girls are threatening to strike for pay parity with the men? Sure, once they can present a skill level comparable to the men and when they can draw the crowds.
In the meanwhile, beating Thailand is the best they can do… and remenmber, the US was the Country that created "Women's Soccer" – kind of like "Women's Basketball." Take a sport no other Country has, plow money into it drawing on a large population and gaining a head start and then get it voted in to the Olympics.

  21. @ja4fitness

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

Thank you! I didn’t even know the goal celebrations were a thing because I was still celebrating myself with every goal. Get over it. These girls dream of this stage. They’re here now and I’d probably do the same. Mewis is normally fairly chill after scoring, and I guess I noticed especially with her, her facial expression after scoring… she was a kid in a candy shop. She was so excited. I’m not upset at all about the celebrations. And yes, if it were men, No one would say anything about their scoring or celebrations!!

  27. @dlouisgonzalez

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

I don’t care what argument you use, it was unprofessional for the US to run up the score against an obviously inferior team. This lady borrows “toxic masculinity” to justify being unprofessional.

    February 8, 2024 at 10:20 am

After the game they all went to the showers, broke out the strap ons, and started celebrating. I heard the celebratory dinner was muff pie.

I refuse to watch any of this tournament due to the BS politics. Women soccer deserves nothing close to what men get in pay. They are soooo damn boring.

B-effin'-S! Points diff is an excuse for running up the score, not an explanation for behaving like a 3 y. o. opening up x-mas gifts for the first time. THAT pathetic & SOULESS lack of sportsmanship is what ex-fans take exception to. Even still, I think by 10 – 0 the USA ought'a be handing out invitations in the grandstands for Juvies to finish the game. Yet you call THAT **it-show respecting your competition [I'm embarrassed by you too now]? [Post-Solo] USWNT Boycott REACTIVED …& that, btw, occurred PRIOR to the end of the match, & well before your puny & obnoxious invitation to quit your product above. Regardless, consider it done! Good luck with your clueless-ness kidz, & have a nice life…

Americans have become soft. They have forgotten how to win. People think these women scored 13 easy goals. They hustled and ran hard after every loose ball. These 13 goals were great goals. It showed the tremendous talent of these women. If they had just started to play keep away that would of been humiliating for the other team.
