While the USA Today is defending this administration it can tell us where the 85,000 missing unaccompanied minor illegal immigrants are and why AOC isn't at a fence crying about it.

Never lived in Texas, never voted for Abbott, but I feel his pain. Can't blame him for seeking his own solutions given that Congress and the WH have utterly failed (or barely even tried?) to straighten out the mess at the Mexican border. If he hadn't bussed hordes of asylum seekers to other cities and installed barriers in the Rio Grande River, the rest of us in other states would still be asleep and unaware of the overwhelming situation at our southern border.

That episode he is talking about is my favorite the boyfriend shot his girlfriend at the top of the stairs, she fell down the stairs and he kicked the gun not out of her hand bc she didn't shoot herself and his brother went to jail for telling the Police lies, and the brother told at least 2 x girlfriend's not to testify that his brother used to beat the heck out of them. Its called Cover Story when the guy mentioned 48 hours, i thought of that episode

These are illegals!!! They pay thousands to the cartels who are making millions upon millions off them. We (my family) are from a country Americans love, though we paid thousands the legal route, with all the correct and legal paperwork, medicals to make sure we were properly vaccinated from our country and also our kids required further vaccines before they would be accepted in school, we were pin cushions. We had to prove we had enough money to care for ourselves. We are now, thankfully, citizens, which took us years.we added to the economy with our work visas, green cards and put back money into the America economy, not making these cartels richer.
I saw one illegal openly admit he paid $7,000 to these cartels to cross illegally to the USA.
I am so furious with this

As a Texan I’m proud of Governor Abbott!
It’s a shame that under the Biden Administration the word “Illegal” has to be specifically written as law for enforcement!!
I have no problem with legalized immigration, but we’re receiving the bottom of the barrel. Nefarious Chinese nations and terrorist! They want the “Free” stuff while our American veterans and elderly suffer.
Many families in Texas needing help, although a single mother works…she’s only receiving $300 a month in food stamps…..that’s one good trip to the grocery store for four kids.
While illegal immigrants are given thousands. NGO’s should be outlawed!
Thank you Governor Abbott!!!

This violation of federal law will only stir the pot further. Abbott's shipping migrants out of state can be construed as kidnapping and human trafficking. Working with DeSantis in Florida creates a conspiracy to the same. That case is still under investigation. My guess is that will become a federal RICO case like Trump's election interference case in Georgia. There will be many defendants pleading guilty to lesser punishments in exchange for throwing Abbott and Desantis under the bus. I will be shocked if the two of them don't end up in federal prison.
@LMGunslinger
March 26, 2024 at 9:47 pm
The worry about racial profiling for immigration law is kinda a nonfactor. It's already been settled with how federal law enforcement handled the process (prior to biden). Unless there is a reasonable cause to believe you committed a crime, a cop cant demand for proof of citizenship. The 4th ammendment will still have a play. There arent any real negatives to the texas law.

March 26, 2024 at 9:47 pm
This law will have to be struck down. It is completely illegal to arrest these people. Do I agree with how things are designed? Not really. But currently, no matter where someone crosses the border, at a checkpoint or not, they can declare asylum. Once they do and they are background checked for anything that immediately disqualifies them from entering the country, they are federally protected from any prosecution or law enforcement intervention solely for their entry for one year while they adjudicate their case. Currently, the system is set up in such a way that they are only allowed to see judges regarding asylum cases in the US. I'm all for reforming the system and making it completely illegal to enter unlawfully but we need a system in place where asylum seekers can access legal representation and virtually appear in court through video calling from an embassy in their own country. Currently, that isn't set up and arresting these migrants for unlawfully being here is in violation of existing federal laws.

Illegal migrants. Of course USA Today wouldn't really try telling the truth, just spreading falsehoods and division. The law simply gives the State law enforcement the freedom to enforce federal law that is not being enforced.
@beardo-baggins

🤦♂Being a Migrant is not in itself illegal. Lots of Migrant workers are in the Country legally. Ever heard of the MSPA (Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act)?

Tenure is meant to protect professors’ ability to discuss their research as protected under the 1A, “free speech”. They complain about university students shutting down right wing speakers and then retaliate by shutting down diversity offices. Pick a cause! You can’t support wanting to hear everyone’s story at universities without allowing everyone to talk. This is the MAGA they’re talking about, limiting access to education again.
