got this the first day it came out. There are some things I dont like about it but overall I like it. Always wanted an Iphone but my contract on sprint prevented me. So this was the next best thing.

Sprint $99, what's the point of paying $99 for phone service that barely works?

My friend has sprint and can't even use her phone in LA, there's literally no reception.

the storm, the instinct…both advertised as iphone killer…the developer guy of pre is actually using all the techniques steve jobs used..minimal info until release…and pre is made by iphone developers so theyre like siblings…pre just needs an fn app store!! thats the only thing theyve got over pre!

  15. @AlpineSolitude

    March 28, 2024 at 5:01 pm

Too bad you can only have music + 1 app at a time. That means no uploading photos to facebook while surfing, etc. hypePhone has a pretty UI, but in terms of functionality it blows.

    – No vid capture
    – Worthless camera
    – Zero multitasking
    – No replaceable battery
    – Many more

If you like fart apps you should get the hypePhone.

  16. @edmanvideos

    March 28, 2024 at 5:01 pm

I can tell from every video that that music player is not gonna be as smooth as the iphone at all, just look at how it stutters when they try to cover flow.

Hmmm thats funny, im using my white 16gb Iphone right now and i got the red hot chili peppers playing from it while im browsing the web in safari and all i do is text so let me assure you you can play music from the iphone and use ANY function of the phone from texting, mail, calender, hell even using the damn camera while listening to music.

This definitly not an iphone killer.palm should have tort about a bigger screen, ppl have invested so much money in buying apple application like lovely games and this apps cant be transfered.more over apple is the king of touch screen i admit that even though i dont like the iphone,am a htc lover.

  19. @vellosity

    March 28, 2024 at 5:01 pm

it don't have direct connect, so it just another phone to me. I have the ipod touch, so I don't need a phone that can beat iphone, I need one that can do more then the iphone. Just another touch phone to me. Get a ipod touch, and keep your phone for what its made for. calling people. I ipod touch doses everything. Just can't make calls. I can text, e-mail,download apps, music. its a great tool, for a sidekick. The screen is large, the keys are finger friendly,

    March 28, 2024 at 5:01 pm

yeah the Pre is the iphone killer. Others have failed cause the iphone has still had things over the clones, but in this case, there is not one single thing the iphone has over the pre

    March 28, 2024 at 5:01 pm

I love my iPhone and I think it's a great phone. I am happy palm came out with this phone cuz it pushed apple to up it's game and palm will have to up there's when the new iPhone comes out. So the consumer wins either way

  23. @depichu

    March 28, 2024 at 5:01 pm

Just like the iPhone, the Pre can have a load of apps developed for it to match the iphone. The iphone is NOT the first phone to support "applications". On top of that, it takes the iphone's hardware features and adds to it with the gesture area and a slider keyboard. The iPhone has definitely set a new standard with mobile phones, and we should be glad companies are stepping it to up to meet the standard or exceed them.

  24. @serendipityuk

    March 28, 2024 at 5:01 pm

As you can with an iPhone + there's loads of things the Pre can't do.

i cant wait to get this phone for my birthday, i love vertical qwertys and the webOS and the touch screen looks so new and refreshing. So much better then all the crap LG touch screen phones, can't wait to even try this out!

  28. @Hangid

    March 28, 2024 at 5:01 pm

@mike45014: So Palm/Sprint are idiots for taking the time to make sure that the Pre is at it's highest quality at the time of it's launch? Do even realize what happened to the BB Storm because RIM rushed it? It became the laughing stock of the smartphone industry and still is today.

  29. @Hangid

    March 28, 2024 at 5:01 pm

You could, however, say the the webOS is the spiritual successor to the Palm OS in a way.

  30. @lxnthnyvilla

i have the pro and its great, the v. key board is great for one hand and the hard key board is great for 2 hands for quicker texting and better web browsing, but i had the mogul too so im a little board with wm, but still like it.

i dont like the keyboard on this one i didnt like it with my treo and when on the web with the inverted screen, its not going to be fun.

whats really gunna suck is when we all get this phone and the new one comes out a few months later 🙁

  42. @conradchase

    March 28, 2024 at 5:01 pm

It is very difficult to use the htc's slide out keyboard with one hand. I know, I've owned one. If you are very dextrous you might be able to type some text but unless your thumb is six inches long, your not going to be able to reach the touch screen. You don't need to call people stupid because they like a different phone than you. I you like the htc then buy it but there's no need for insults.
    😉
