The America’s team branding didn’t come out of Dallas. The idea for America’s team came out NFL films in the mid 70s. It doesn’t take a Genius to research this fact. Look up NFL films from the 70s.

If you don't know where the America's Team label came from, you are not a real sports fan, or you are too young to remember. It did not come from The Dallas Cowboys organization.

People are ignorant to the facts of why the Dallas Cowboys are called America's team, so here's one fun fact, what you must understand is whether you were a Cowboy fan in the passed you lived this if you are a Cowboys fan now chances are you were introduced to the team from your Dad or family, if you are not a fan, sorry for you. The Dallas Cowboys were front and center and devoted to every opportunity of moving the league forward displaying football Showmanship as a football team. As the league struggled they wanted to increase their television time by adding more games on holidays, when asked who would want to play on these days including Thanksgiving. 90 + percentage of the teams were against it, but not the Cowboys they saw it as a opportunity to promote the team nationally and push the brand. The Dallas Cowboys was one of those teams so imagine television during that time were there were very few channels and Networks so when you turn on the TV most of the professional football games you saw was the Dallas Cowboys, this is how we develop large part of our fan base during that era, so now those Cowboys fans arel handing down that love for the Cowboys to their kids etc… so Generations of Cowboys fans are being born wearing the star. There was a large portion of America that followed that same trend so that led to the name America's Team!!! The Dallas Cowboys will always be America's Team and that's not for debate no one else could ever fill those shoes historically! This is forever! God Bless America Team!!!
